The Chumby device acts like a clock radio, but is designed to be open, flexible and hackable. It uses the wireless Internet connection to fetch cool widgets (like Flickr photos, clocks, news information and video podcasts) from the Chumby web site.

    Two hundred of the alpha versions of the Chumby device were handed out to 2006 FOO camp participants last summer to rave online reviews. The Chumby device will be available for purchase in 3Q 2007.

These tips come from other members, allowing everyone in the Wesabe community to benefit from its collective wisdom.

    Wesabe provides tools to automatically download users' financial information from their bank and credit card accounts, and securely sends that data to Wesabe, where it is stored privately. Individuals now have an clear view of their own spending, and can edit and tag (group into categories) their purchases. The edits made by community members benefit all of the participants, so that each person can take advantage of edits and tags that other people have entered. Members immediately see tips on how to get more for their money, matched to where they spend. Wesabe also has a 'goals' section, which allows members to share strategies and progress with people working towards a common financial goal.
